First in a Series of ‘Meet the Commissioners’ Forums
New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration Commissioner G. Philip Blatsos will be the inaugural speaker on Thursday, Oct. 12 at a business leaders’ forum, Meet the Commissioners, co-sponsored by Sulloway & Hollis, P.L.L.C, and the Greater Concord Area Chamber of Commerce.
Commissioner Blatsos will make brief remarks and answer questions at the breakfast meeting, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., in The Gallery at the Sulloway & Hollis law offices, 29 School Street, Concord. It will be the first in a series of breakfast forums featuring the leading decision-makers of key state agencies, developed in partnership with the Greater Concord Area Chamber of Commerce.
Commissioner Blatsos is expected to address legislative developments and regulation changes in the tax field, the Department’s ongoing auditing and collection efforts, and will answer questions from the audience.
“We felt that the business community would enjoy an opportunity to hear directly from leaders of key agencies in state government that have a direct impact on how we do business in the Granite State,” said Douglas Chamberlain, who is chairman of the Business Group at Sulloway. “We are looking forward to the commissioners’’ briefing us on new laws, new programs, and initiatives that affect business. These leaders also have unique perspectives and insights on economic and government trends that will make for an interesting dialogue.”
The Meet the Commissioners series, taking place on the second Thursday of each month, will run through March, 2007, with leaders of key state agencies of interest to the business community taking part. Coming up on Nov. 9 will be Richard S. Brothers, Commissioner of the Department of Employment Security, and on December 14, Carol Murray, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, will speak.
Also lined up for the “Meet the Commissioner” series for the first three months of 2007 are: George Bald, Commissioner of Economic Development; Roger A. Sevigny, Commissioner of the Insurance Department; and George N. Copadis, Commissioner of the Department of Labor.
“We are pleased to partner with the Greater Concord Area Chamber of Commerce in organizing these informational programs,” said Chamberlain. “We hope that the business community finds them informative and a useful networking opportunity.”
