PROGRAM CONTACT: Kevin O'Shea, Sulloway & Hollis, 603-224-2341.
Commissioner George Bald will be speaking on the role of the Department of Resources & Economic Development in New Hampshire’s economy as part of a series of business leaders’ forums co-sponsored by Sulloway & Hollis, P.L.L.C, and the NH Business and Industry Association.
Commissioner Bald will make brief remarks and answer questions at the Meet the Commissioners program to be held on Tuesday, December 18th from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Sulloway & Hollis law offices, located at 29 School Street in Concord.
The Department of Resources & Economic Development, also known as DRED, is actually comprised of four divisions – the Division of Economic Development, the Division of Travel & Tourism Development, the Division of Forests & Lands and the Division of Parks & Recreation. Commissioner Bald will speak about how the four DRED divisions work together to create a state of economic opportunity for the state’s citizens.
Douglas Chamberlain, chair of the Business Group at the Sulloway & Hollis law firm, who helped organize the Meet the Commissioners forums, noted, "DRED’s role promoting the New Hampshire economy cannot be overstated. DRED promotes New Hampshire’s business climate to out of state businesses seeking to relocate here, operates New Hampshire’s state parks, and promotes tourism on behalf of New Hampshire throughout the world."
Future Meet the Commissioners programs will feature Thomas Getz, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission (January 29th) and G. Philip Blatsos, Commissioner of the Department Revenue Administration (February 26th). Additional speakers for 2008 will be announced soon.
