Douglas R. Chamberlain is a senior member of Sulloway & Hollis, P.L.L.C., where he advises businesses and professional groups, particularly in the health care field, on matters such as formation and governance, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions. He also practices extensively in the area of employee benefits, assisting clients with their 401(k) and other retirement plans, as well as fringe benefit programs of all types. Mr. Chamberlain serves as Chair of the firm’s Business Group. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 1987 for his work in the benefits field, received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and authored numerous articles and lectured extensively on benefits and other topics.

Mr. Chamberlain is an honors graduate of Harvard College, and received his law degree from the Columbia School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He was admitted to the New Hampshire Bar in 1976 and is an active member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, with service on the Association’s Legislation Committee and as past Chair of the Association’s Taxation Section and Continuing Legal Education Committee. Mr. Chamberlain is also the longtime Chair of the New Hampshire MCLE Board, appointed by the state Supreme Court to supervise and regulate continuing professional education for New Hampshire lawyers. He is former President of the New Hampshire Employee Benefits Council, and is a member and past Board member and Secretary of the Human Resources Association -- Greater Concord.

Mr. Chamberlain is an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Manchester, New Hampshire, having served as Warden and Vestry member and on numerous Parish committees. He has also served as Chair of the Committee on Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire. He is currently a Director and Secretary-Treasurer of the Harvard Club of New Hampshire, and is a Director of Good News Garage of Lutheran Social Services. With his wife Linda and their two children, Mr. Chamberlain is a longtime resident of Manchester, where is he is active in the Currier Museum of Art and Manchester Historic Association. His other interests include travel, history and architecture.
