Leader: Michael P. Lehman Sulloway & Hollis has been the New Hampshire leader in the defense of medical malpractice actions for more than a half century. In addition, we represent physicians, hospitals, and other health-care providers before state licensing boards, including frequent work in response to Board of Medicine investigations and representation of providers in fraud and abuse investigations, and other interactions with state and federal regulatory agencies. We regularly represent most of the leading medical malpractice insurers and self-insured providers in Northern New England. Our attorneys also help hospitals and physician groups avoid legal problems. We design and implement risk management, quality assurance, and physician health programs, as well as consult on credentialing, medical ethics, hospital and medical staff governance, and issues involving hospital-physician relations, including a substantial health-care labor relations practice. Due to our historic ties with all elements of the medical community, we possess a unique ability to bring providers together to develop initiatives critical to ensuring access to quality health care, and to guide them through the legislative process. Our attorneys have played a major role in securing passage of many New Hampshire laws of vital importance to the health-care community. Our lawyers draw on a depth of experience, contacts, and resources unmatched in New Hampshire, to advise and defend our health-care clients in rapidly evolving areas where law and medicine converge. Our attorneys are devoted to representing the health-care community, whether the work involves the defense of catastrophic injury claims, advising hospitals and physician groups on the latest strategies for managing risk, quality assurance programs and preventing lawsuits before they happen, or drafting and implementing tort reform legislation. Our team is led by senior attorneys with years of experience representing hospitals and physicians throughout Northern New England, supported by a dedicated group of talented associate attorneys. It also includes experienced paralegals (some of whom are also nurses) skilled in medical-record collection and analysis, medical literature search and review, preparation of trial exhibits, and other critical support services. Our group represents our clients in the following areas:
