James
E. Owers primarily represents employers and insurance carriers
in
the defense of fidelity, surety and probate bond claims, workers’
compensation, subrogation and personal injury claims. He has successfully
appeared before the New Hampshire Supreme Court to argue cases.
Mr. Owers manages the relationship with Sulloway’s
largest commercial insurance client, coordinating a wide range
of legal
services with
the
client.
Mr. Owers is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the
Workers’ Compensation Law category. He has written numerous
articles on insurance matters and Alaska’s commercial fisheries
and serves on the City of Concord Conservation Commission.
Mr.
Owers graduated from Beloit College in 1969 and from Cornell University
Law School in 1979. After clerking for the Alaska Supreme Court
and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, he
joined the firm in 1982.
Mr. Owers is admitted to practice law in New Hampshire
and Alaska.
