Margaret H. Nelson practices commercial, administrative and appellate litigation with an emphasis on tax abatements and exemptions, insurance coverage law, professional liability defense and public utility matters. Ms. Nelson has successfully appeared before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on many occasions and handled several highly visible property tax cases in New Hampshire. Additionally, she provides tax abatement services for major retail developments, homeowners associations including many waterfront properties and several of the State’s highest individually assessed commercial and industrial properties. Ms. Nelson is Leader of Sulloway’s Appellate Group and its Energy, Utility and Telecommunications Group.

Ms. Nelson currently serves as Managing Director of the Firm. In addition, she is the Chair of the New Hampshire Supreme Court’s Professional Conduct Committee. She is a past Chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. She has lectured on various topics including administrative law, appellate practice, tax abatements, insurance and ethics. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Public Utility Law and Insurance Law categories.

Ms. Nelson received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her law degree from Boston College Law School. Prior to joining the Firm in 1980, she was a prosecutor in New York City.
