Mr. Gross chaired the New Hampshire Supreme Court's Board of Bar Examiners for 23 years and has chaired the Advisory Committee for the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He has assisted three New Hampshire Governors in various capacities, was Mayor of Concord, N.H. for three terms and was twice elected to New Hampshire's Constitutional Convention. Mr. Gross represented the New Hampshire Supreme Court in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court, and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1989 in both the Business Litigation (Appellate) and Public Utility Law categories. He is a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and is AV rated in Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Gross has chaired the boards of Capital Region Health Care Corporation - Concord Hospital, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, New Hampshire Public Radio, the Steering Committee for Capitol Center for the Arts and the Advisory Committee for the State of New Hampshire’s Health Care Fund. He currently chairs the New Hampshire Center for Public Policy Studies, the Conservation Law Foundation’s New Hampshire State Board, and the Advisory Committee on Community Health Centers. He also is a member of the board of trustees of Capitol Center for the Arts and the City of Concord's Planning Board. He has been accorded honorary membership in the New Hampshire Medical Society and the New Hampshire chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Gross received both his law degree and undergraduate degree from Harvard. He served as Law Clerk to the United States District Judge for the District of New Hampshire, before joining the Firm in 1965.
