Maureen L. Pomeroy devotes her practice to a variety of employment and litigation matters that affect individuals and businesses. Ms. Pomeroy advises employers on a variety of issues related to employment practices, including wage issues, workers’ compensation, and preparing employee hand books and policies. Ms. Pomeroy has prepared and successfully negotiated employment agreements on behalf of both employers and business professionals. She conducts investigations for employers involved with claims of sexual harassment and discrimination. In 2007, Ms. Pomeroy completed a course relating to internal investigations certified and conducted by the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Her general litigation practice includes representing clients in cases involving real estate, business litigation, personal injury actions, product liability cases, medical malpractice actions, and insurance coverage issues.
From 1999-2000, Ms. Pomeroy served as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. Ms. Pomeroy graduated from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts, in May of 1999. She received her B.A. in Psychology at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire in 1995. Before entering law school, Ms. Pomeroy was a police officer with the Hampton Police Department.
Ms. Pomeroy serves as a member of the Salem Conservation Commission. She is also a member of a subcommittee involved in writing proposed municipal ordinances concerning conservation issues within the Town of Salem and is the firm's member representative at the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Pomeroy is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She practices in both the state and federal courts in these jurisdictions.
