Our
Practice
Sulloway & Hollis is the state leader in the defense of medical
malpractice actions and has been for over a half century. Now offering
these services in Maine.
In
addition to medical malpractice defense, the group represents physicians
and other healthcare providers before state licensing boards, including
frequent appearances in Board of Medicine investigations, and represents
providers in fraud and abuse investigations and other interactions
with state and federal regulatory agencies.
We also assist hospitals and physician groups with projects designed
to prevent legal problems. We design and implement risk management,
quality assurance, and physician health programs and consult on
credentialing, medical ethics, hospital and medical staff by-laws,
and hospital-physician relation issues.
Because of our successful and historic ties with diverse elements
of the medical community, Sulloway has the unique ability to form
consortiums of providers to support the development and guidance
through the legislative process of laws which are critical to health
care access and quality.
Our
Strength
Starting in the 1950s, physicians in New Hampshire were defended
almost exclusively by Frank J. Sulloway and Irving H. Soden, both
deceased partners. Our leadership and success continues today.
Our team is comprised of eight attorneys who represent hospitals
and physicians in defense of these serious cases. The group’s
leader, Michael Lehman is listed
in the
Best Lawyers in America, and every team member has substantial
experience trying difficult high-exposure malpractice cases. The team includes
experienced paralegals, including two nurses, skilled
in medical record collection and analysis, medical literature
search
and review, preparation of trial exhibits, and other critical support
services.
Our
Success
We defend all cases aggressively and find that this approach rewards
our clients with good trial results or favorable settlements of
liability cases.
