Michael
M. Lonergan is a trial lawyer who handles a variety of complex matters,
including commercial and corporate litigation, arbitration and mediation,
bodily injury claims (e.g., products, electrocution, aviation, and
auto); construction litigation (e.g., building, heavy construction
and professional liability); property claims (e.g., first party
fire loss); probate litigation; and professional liability claims
(e.g., legal malpractice, errors and omissions, directors and officers).
He is Leader of Sulloway’s General Litigation Group. Mr. Lonergan
provides the litigation support
for New Hampshire’s largest
utility.
Mr.
Lonergan is a member of the State and Federal bars, the Defense
Research Institute, the Northern New England Defense Counsel, and
the N.H. Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Lonergan was elected to
the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel in 1982. He has
lectured on trial practice to various bar groups within the State
of New Hampshire and has also served on the New Hampshire Bar Association’s
Ethics Committee, the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Committee
on Cooperation with the Courts, the New Hampshire Bar Association’s
Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, and the New Hampshire Bar
Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee.
Mr. Lonergan has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution
and serves as a private mediator and arbitrator. He has completed
the Harvard Law School Advanced Mediation Workshop and was appointed
to the Federal Court Mediation Panel in 1998 and the New Hampshire
Probate Court Mediation Panel in 2002.
Mr. Lonergan graduated from Yale University in 1966 and from Cornell
University Law School in 1969.
