Robert J. Lanney joined the Firm in 1984 and concentrates his practice in general litigation and the defense of medical malpractice cases. Mr. Lanney handles a wide variety of property damage and personal injury litigation on behalf of insured and uninsured defendants. He routinely represents insured and uninsured defendants, physicians and hospitals in the courtroom and before various administrative agencies and legislative committees. Mr. Lanney has lectured on trial practice and risk management issues to numerous professional and insurance groups in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Mr. Lanney is a member of the federal and state bars, the Defense Research Institute, and the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Lanney is very active in the United Way and is a past President of the Board of Governors of the United Way of Merrimack County. He is a recipient of the Leo Rubin Award, an award the United Way has given each year since 1987 to outstanding volunteers who go out of their way for the United Way and the community as a whole. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Concord Area Trust for Community Housing which develops affordable low income housing in Merrimack County.

Mr. Lanney graduated from Boston College in 1981 and from Boston College Law School in 1984. He has been selected by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of personal injury litigation. Mr. Lanney served as the Firm’s Managing Director from 2005-2007.
