Joseph R. Lavoie
Joseph R. Lavoie joined Sulloway & Hollis as an associate in 2017 after working at the Firm as a summer associate in 2016. Mr. Lavoie represents litigation and business clients in a variety of matters from commercial litigation to 501(c)(3) applications. While his practice is diverse, Mr. Lavoie primarily works with insurance and reinsurance companies in the defense of insured claims and on coverage matters. Additionally, Mr. Lavoie represents clients in pre-litigation disputes, advocating for creative resolutions to avoid the need to surrender outcomes to a jury.
Before his career in law, Mr. Lavoie was active in social justice efforts in Rochester, New York, including working as a domestic violence court advocate and as a staff member for a homeless shelter.
Outside the office, Mr. Lavoie can be found hiking in the White Mountains or researching legal issues related to blockchain technology.
