Rose Marie Joly is a Member of Sulloway & Hollis and concentrates her practice in civil litigation. She has over 20 years of experience in the defense of civil claims including medical malpractice, employment, commercial and consumer protection actions. Rose has represented clients in lawsuits brought in state and federal courts, and in disciplinary matters brought before the New Hampshire Boards of Medicine, Nursing, Mental Health and Psychology. She has also represented a variety of clients in conducting employment investigations. Experienced in arguing her clients’ positions before the state and federal courts of New Hampshire as well as a number of New Hampshire administrative boards, Rose also values negotiation and has successfully negotiated pre-hearing and pre-trial resolutions in her clients’ best interests.

Prior to joining the firm, Rose practiced law from 1999 to 2015 with the Concord law firm of Rath, Young and Pignatelli, P.C., with a focus on medical malpractice defense; professional board matters; contract review, drafting, and negotiation; employment counsel, litigation and investigations; commercial and consumer protection claim defense; and family law disputes. From 1996 to 1999, she was an associate with the Concord law firm of Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, working in the firm’s civil litigation practice with a focus on employment litigation including Title VII claims. Before entering private practice, from 1994 to 1996, Rose served as a law clerk for the New Hampshire Superior Court. She was selected by a panel of judges to serve as the Court’s Senior Law Clerk from 1995 to 1996, in which capacity she assisted the Justices of the Court in all counties with both civil and criminal matters and oversaw court placement of and workload of more than a dozen law clerks.

Rose graduated from Boston College Law School in May of 1994. Before attending law school, and after completion of her college education, Rose was hired by May Company for its Executive Training Program. Thereafter, she was employed by Liz Claiborne Company as an Account Executive for the greater Boston territory.  Rose has been involved in local community theater and has done dance and vocal performances for community fundraisers since moving to Concord in 1997.
