Melissa Hanlon is a Member at Sulloway & Hollis. She chairs the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and is a member of the Executive Committee that guides the firm. Melissa joined the firm in 2002 and works in our Concord, NH office.

An insightful and savvy litigator, Melissa represents clients at the trial and appellate levels, and before numerous administrative boards and agencies, including the Board of Medicine, Board of Nursing, and the Board of Dental Examiners. In addition, she represents clients at Medical Malpractice Screening Panels in Maine and New Hampshire.

She is a tireless advocate for her clients and guides them through the litigation process, from initial claims through trial and appeal. Melissa counsels and is a frequent lecturer on behalf of, hospitals, physician groups, and medical liability insurers on compliance and risk management topics.

Her broad range of experience includes defending clients in cases involving medical malpractice, professional liability, product liability, nursing home liability, and sexual misconduct. She works with health care clients on peer review and staff privilege matters. She also helps small/solo mental health/therapy practices and medical spa/wellness care centers craft a framework to effectively manage risk and compliance issues.

In addition, Melissa counsels and represents adoptive parents and birth parents in domestic adoptions. An adoptive parent herself, Melissa brings a unique and personal perspective to this work, and helps clients successfully navigate the process.
