Jay Surdukowski Publishes Article in the New Hampshire Business Review on the Attorney General’s Office Ramping Up Campaign Finance Enforcement

Jay Surdukowski, an attorney in Sulloway’s Concord, New Hampshire office, has published an article in the New Hampshire Business Review on the New Hampshire Attorney General’s new Election Law Unit, which, among others things, has promised to pro-actively regulate campaign finance laws in New Hampshire, including conducting random audits of financial reports of candidates and political committees.

The move signals a new aggressive tack the Justice Department will take with campaign finance issues which have historically seen only the more headline-grabbing complaints see complete adjudication on account of a lack of resources devoted to policing campaign finance and election law more broadly.  The Election Law Unit will be staffed by a full-time attorney and a full-time investigator thanks to a recent legislative appropriation.

Mr. Surdukowski has represented two gubernatorial campaigns and other candidates and political committees.
