Jay Surdukowski Publishes Op Ed on Campaign Finance Law
Attorney Jay Surdukowski of the Firm’s Concord, New Hampshire office published an op ed on two early test cases for the New Hampshire Department of Justice’s new Election Law Unit.
The Election Law Unit, charged with enforcing campaign finance law, among other tasks, is currently grappling with complaints that the Governor’s campaign accepted illegal partnership donations during the 2018 election and Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire made election communications opposing the Democratic candidate for Governor without registering or disclosing its receipts or expenditures. The Complaints were brought in late-October by Granite State Progress and the Coalition for Open Democracy, respectively.
The op ed explains how the decisions on these significant campaign finance matters may have ramifications for future state elections far beyond the involved parties.
The op ed appeared in the Union Leader, Concord Monitor, and New Hampshire Business Review and may be accessed here.
