Alexander G. Henlin Elected An Equity Member of Sulloway & Hollis, P.L.L.C.
Mr. Henlin is an experienced litigator who has focused his practice on complex questions of insurance coverage and reinsurance law. Over the past 15 years, he has counseled and represented carriers in mediation proceedings, before arbitration panels and in all phases of litigation across the United States. He also defends lenders and loan services against consumer claims.
Liability insurers have retained Mr. Henlin to render opinions about coverage under both primary and excess-layer general liability, D&O, E&O, builders’ risk, and professional liability policies. Affected insureds have included broker-dealers, investment advisors, hedge funds, private equity firms, real estate professionals and attorneys.
Mr. Henlin is intimately familiar with first-party policies. He writes and speaks frequently on property insurance topics and regularly seeks opportunities to deepen his familiarity with reinsurance products that cover those risks.
Mr. Henlin also represents insurance companies in disputes involving reinsured risks. He has arbitrated matters arising under both facultative certificates and treaty programs and counseled both ceding and reinsuring companies about their obligations and their rights. Mr. Henlin is an active member and past president of the Massachusetts Insurance and Reinsurance Bar Association.
