Robert Best is a Member at Sulloway & Hollis. He chairs the firm’s Business Law Practice Group and is a member of the Executive Committee that guides the firm. His practice focuses on healthcare, non-profit, real estate, and business clients. Bob assists clients with a wide variety of administrative and regulatory matters important to healthcare and business organizations. Bob joined the firm in 2015 and works in our Concord, NH office.

An active member of the community, Bob is a trustee of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Society, a 2026-27 Board member of the American Society of Medical Association Counsel, a member of the Board of New Hampshire Furniture Masters, the former Chair of the Merrimack NH Planning Board, has been a board member and past president of the Merrimack Rotary, serves on the board of a Manchester charter school, as well as a foundation that supports the development of new charter schools. Bob also knows good barbeque; he’s a member and certified judge of the Kansas City Barbecue Society and regularly competes in regional KCBS contests.

Prior to joining Sulloway & Hollis, Bob practiced healthcare, employment, civil, land use, and administrative law at a local firm. He was the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Nurses Association, and guided the Association’s grassroots advocacy efforts for nurses and patients. He served as an adjunct professor at NHTI, teaching administrative law and legal nurse consulting for eight years, and an adjunct professor at UNH teaching health law and negotiation.

Before coming to New Hampshire, Bob’s background includes administration for public, private, and academic healthcare settings and biomedical research at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A frequent speaker at healthcare seminars and business forums, Bob has presented materials and written articles on many topics of interest such as risk management, board governance, business acquisitions, medical marijuana, and legal issues facing new business owners.

Originally from Florida and Georgia, Bob and his wife Kate live in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and has four adult children and uncounted cats and dogs.
